Pitcairn postcard collecting is a difficult, and sometimes expensive, hobby. But having said that, it is quite fascinating if you are interested in the history of the Island and its people.
My interest has expanded to include the New Zealand Shipping Company, whose passenger ship calls at Pitcairn provided a lifeline for the Islanders for many years. Also postcards featuring the replica Bounty, the original Bounty having carried the mutineers and their Polynesian partners to Pitcairn
Four postcards showing a collision involving the New Zealand Shipping Company's Remuera which occurred in 1922 are now on the HGK website. I wonder if they could have been taken by Henry Keyse?
